Welcome to History Department Website!
To some students, studying History simply means swallowing tons of factual information and presenting it again during exams. In fact, as "student historians", one should attempt to find patterns and establish the meaning of past events, and grasp the various historical concepts and skills.
Literally speaking, everything has a history and can be analyzed and interpreted in historical perspective and context. It is hoped that the study of history at our secondary school could not only nurture students' appreciation of the past, but also extend their high-order thinking abilities. Some of these abilities include explaining the historical causality -- how and why changes occur within societies and cultures, understanding the complex inter-relationship between continuity and change and distinguishing between facts and opinions.
