SPCC X LMP #StayHome&MakeMusic Video

10 Apr 2020

Our College’s Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Music Director, Mr. Warren Lee and Faculty Mentor, Dr. Anton Luiten, has initiated a virtual music collaboration to pay tribute to all healthcare workers from Hong Kong to London and beyond, but especially to those connected to the SPCC family.

The 76-member strong Symphony Orchestra was originally scheduled to perform with members of the London Mozart Players in early May in City Hall. Putting aside their own disappointments due to the inevitable cancellation, the Orchestra invited members of the London Mozart Players to join them in recording videos of Johann Strauss’ stirring Radetzky March, not only to uplift the spirits of medical professionals, but to keep students engaged in music making during this extended suspension of rehearsals. This video is a labour of love from across professions and cultures, as well as a symbol of our students’ creativity, compassion and resilience.

The College would like to express its gratitude to the London Mozart Players for their continued role modelling for our students, as well as to Professor Gabriel Leung, Dean of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong, for amplifying this message of love through his guest appearance in the video.
